Description

BLUEBERRY BUSH ALAPAHA  RABBITEYE These blueberries  produce medium-sized, dark blue berry  that ripen from late May to early June. The plant is named for the  Alapaha River in South Georgia. Its combination of early ripening and late flowering results in high frost resistance. This Blueberry can be useful in the landscape in containers or planters, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, in landscape beds or islands, in small groupings or as a hedge and also in cottage gardens or perennial gardens.
  • Released by UGA in 2001.
  • Ripens early from middle of May
  • Height 6-9 ft fully grown
  • Hardy in zones 6-9
  • 450 to 500 chill hours
  • Pollinator: Vernon blueberry.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.
