Phlox subulata 'Scarlet Flame' — commonly called Thrift or Red Creeping Phlox — is a vibrant, low-growing, evergreen perennial that forms a dense, colorful groundcover. It features needle-like, deep green foliage and becomes a spectacular carpet of bright scarlet-pink flowers in early to mid-spring. Growing about 4 to 6 inches tall and spreading 18 to 24 inches wide, 'Scarlet Flame' is perfect for rock gardens, slopes, borders, and walls where it can cascade beautifully.
This hardy plant thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established.
