    Plant Care Tips

    🌼 Planting

Select a location that gets partial to full sun, with at least 4–6 hours of direct light each day. Dig a hole approximately two times wider than the root ball and equal in depth. Gently set the Jane Magnolia in place so the top of the root ball is even with the ground. Backfill using loose soil and gently firm it down. Water well after planting and add mulch around the base to retain moisture and reduce weeds. Ensure the mulch is kept a few inches away from the base of the trunk.

    💧 Watering

Water your tree deeply once or twice a week during the first growing season to help roots grow strong and deep. During hot or dry conditions, check the soil often and water as needed. Once established, Jane Magnolia trees can tolerate some dryness, but they perform best with consistent, deep watering.

    🌿 Fertilizing

Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support new growth and flower buds. You may feed again in midsummer for enhanced blooming. Avoid fertilizing late in the season, as it can lead to soft growth that may be damaged in winter.

    ✂️ Pruning

This tree requires only minimal pruning. In late winter or early spring, trim away any broken, damaged, or crowded branches to improve airflow and promote vigorous, healthy growth. If shaping is needed, prune lightly—avoid removing too much at once.

    ❄️ Winter Care

Hardy in USDA Zones 4–8, the Jane Magnolia Tree handles cold winters well. In colder regions, apply a thick layer of mulch around the base in fall to protect the roots. Young trees in exposed areas may benefit from wind protection, such as a burlap wrap. Once mature, it will reliably bounce back each spring with beautiful tulip-like blooms.
