    Plant Care Tips

    🌼 Planting

When planting a bottlebrush tree like the White Buckeye, choose a location with filtered shade or gentle morning sun.
This bottlebrush plant thrives in moist, fertile soil and benefits from protection against harsh afternoon heat.
Set the shrub at the same depth as it was in its container and allow ample space for its naturally wide spread.
Proper planting encourages strong root development and beautiful seasonal growth.

    🫧 Watering

Keep young Bottlebrush Buckeye plants well hydrated as they establish themselves in the landscape.
Moist—yet not waterlogged—soil helps them develop dense foliage and prepares them for summer blooming.
Once established, the shrub tolerates periods of dryness, but regular watering during warmer months supports taller,
    brighter buckeye tree flowers.

    🌱 Fertilizing

Feed the White Buckeye lightly in early spring using a gentle, slow-release fertilizer.
This provides steady nutrients without overstimulating growth.
Balanced fertilization helps this shrub stand out among popular buckeye tree varieties and other
types of buckeye trees, especially in shaded garden environments.

    🍀 Mulching

Spread a 2–3 inch layer of mulch around the base of your Bottlebrush Buckeye to keep the soil cool and retain moisture.
Mulch also limits weed growth and protects the plant’s shallow roots.
A clean mulch ring keeps the shrub healthy, vibrant, and ready to produce its signature summer blooms year after year.

    ✂️ Pruning

Pruning needs are minimal. Remove winter-damaged branches and thin out crowded stems in late winter or early spring.
This helps maintain the plant’s natural shape, improves airflow, and highlights the large, showy
buckeye tree flower when summer arrives.
Light pruning ensures long-term health and an attractive rounded form.
