    Plant Care Tips

    🌼 Planting

When planting a bottlebrush tree like the White Buckeye, choose a location with filtered shade or morning sun. This plant thrives in moist, fertile soil and prefers protection from harsh afternoon heat. Place the shrub at the same depth as it was in its container and allow enough space for its natural spread. Proper planting ensures strong root development and vibrant seasonal growth.

    🫧 Watering

Keep young White Buckeye plants well-hydrated as they establish. Moist, but not waterlogged, soil promotes dense foliage and prepares the shrub for summer blooms. Once established, the plant tolerates dry periods, but regular watering helps produce taller, brighter flowers throughout the warm season.

    🌱 Fertilizing

Apply a gentle, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to provide essential nutrients without overstimulating growth. Balanced feeding supports healthy development, making the White Buckeye a standout among buckeye tree varieties, especially in partially shaded garden areas.

    🍀 Mulching

Spread 2–3 inches of mulch around the base of the White Buckeye to retain moisture, keep the soil cool, and suppress weeds. Mulching protects the plant’s shallow root system and helps maintain a healthy shrub ready to produce its signature summer blooms year after year.

    ✂️ Pruning

Minimal pruning is required. Remove winter-damaged or crowded stems in late winter or early spring to improve airflow and maintain the shrub’s rounded form. Light pruning ensures the White Buckeye showcases its large, showy flowers during summer while retaining a tidy natural shape.
