- Arbequina Fruiting Olive, The plant will produce olive fruits-dark brown fruit with highly aromatic oil content, Self-pollinating fruit. cold hardy, withstanding temperatures as low as 5 degrees. Thrives in most average, well-drained soils; best if slightly alkaline, but highly adaptable. Self-pollinating fruit, this means the plant does not need a cross pollinator. Possibly can be grown in New York City and Chicago, when wrapped and covered for winter protection, can even be buried horizontally in the ground for the winter, to grow back in the spring.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.
