    Plant Care Tips

🌿 How to Plant – Bless Your Heart Blueberry Bush

Locate your blueberry bush in a sunny spot with acidic, loose, well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, but no deeper than its original depth. Place the Bless Your Heart Blueberry Bush into the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the ground. Backfill with soil, gently press to remove air pockets, and water thoroughly. Apply 2–3 inches of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

    💧 Watering Tips

During the first growing season, water deeply once or twice per week to help establish strong roots. Once established, water when the top inch of soil feels dry. For container-grown plants, ensure the pot has proper drainage holes to prevent excess water from collecting at the bottom.

    ☀️ Sunlight Needs

The Bless Your Heart Blueberry Bush thrives in full sun, requiring 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Adequate sun exposure promotes better fruit size, enhanced sweetness, and overall plant health.

    🌸 Feeding the Plant

Feed in early spring with a fertilizer formulated for acid-loving plants, such as azalea or rhododendron fertilizer. Avoid fertilizing late in the growing season, as tender new growth may be vulnerable to early frost damage.

    ✂️ Pruning Guide

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove dead, damaged, or overcrowded branches to improve airflow and encourage stronger fruit production.

    ❄️ Winter Care

The Bless Your Heart Blueberry Bush grows best in USDA zones 6–9 and generally does not require special winter protection in these areas. For container plants or in regions with harsh winters, apply mulch around the base or move pots to a sheltered location during freezing temperatures.
