    Plant Care Tips

    🌼 Planting

Choose a sunny location when planting your Cabernet Sauvignon grape vine, as strong
light helps the fruit develop its signature flavor. These grapes for Cabernet
Sauvignon grow best in loose, well-drained soil that allows air to reach the roots.
Keep the crown level with the soil line when planting. Proper placement supports
healthy vine growth and improves cluster production.

    🫧 Watering

Young Cabernet Sauvignon grapes benefit from regular, deep watering during the first
growing season. Water thoroughly once a week to encourage strong root establishment.
Mature vines will become more drought-tolerant but will still appreciate watering during
long dry spells. Balanced moisture ensures richer fruit and fuller grape clusters.

    🌱 Fertilizing

Apply a light, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support the new growth on
your Cabernet Sauvignon grape vine. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, as they create
excess foliage rather than fruit. Gentle yearly feeding helps the plants produce the
best grapes for Cabernet Sauvignon, enhancing flavor and yield.

    🍀 Mulching

Spread a 2–3 inch layer of mulch around the base of the vine to help the soil retain
moisture and regulate temperature. Mulching suppresses weeds and protects the root zone,
helping Cabernet Sauvignon grapes develop more consistently. A cleaner mulch ring also
improves airflow and general vine health.

    ✂️ Pruning

Prune your Cabernet Sauvignon grape vines in late winter to shape the plant and
encourage stronger fruiting canes. Remove old, weak, or tangled growth to improve
sunlight penetration and airflow. Proper pruning helps boost production and ensures
the vine produces premium clusters—ideal for anyone wanting to know what grape is
Cabernet Sauvignon and what grapes are in Cabernet Sauvignon.
