    Plant Care Tips

    🌼 Planting

Choose a sunny location when planting your Cabernet Sauvignon Grape Vine, as strong light helps develop the fruit’s signature flavor. Plant in loose, well-drained soil that allows air to reach the roots. Keep the crown level with the soil line to support healthy vine growth and improve cluster production.

    🫧 Watering

Young Cabernet Sauvignon grapes benefit from regular, deep watering during the first growing season. Water thoroughly once a week to establish strong roots. Mature vines are more drought-tolerant but will still benefit from watering during extended dry periods. Balanced moisture promotes richer fruit and fuller grape clusters.

    🌱 Fertilizing

Apply a light, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support new growth. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, which promote excess foliage at the expense of fruit. Annual feeding helps produce the best grapes for Cabernet Sauvignon, enhancing flavor and yield.

    🍀 Mulching

Spread 2–3 inches of mulch around the base to retain soil moisture and regulate temperature. Mulching also suppresses weeds and protects the root zone, encouraging consistent grape development and improving airflow and overall vine health.

    ✂️ Pruning

Prune Cabernet Sauvignon grape vines in late winter to shape the plant and encourage strong fruiting canes. Remove old, weak, or tangled growth to improve sunlight penetration and airflow. Proper pruning increases production and ensures premium clusters—ideal for understanding what grapes are in Cabernet Sauvignon.
