    Plant Care Tips

Planting & Care – Dianthus gratianopolitanus ‘Firewitch’

    Planting

Choose a planting site that receives full sun and has well-drained soil. Space plants 8–12 inches apart to allow proper air circulation and full coverage. Position the crown slightly above soil level to help prevent rot.

    Watering

Provide regular watering during the first growing season to help roots establish properly. Once mature, Firewitch Dianthus requires minimal watering and tolerates dry conditions well.

    Sunlight

This Dianthus perennial thrives in full sun and requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily to produce abundant blooms and maintain its compact growth habit.

    Fertilizer

Apply compost or a balanced fertilizer in early spring to support healthy growth. Avoid heavy feeding, as excessive fertilizer can reduce flowering performance.

    Pruning & Maintenance

Remove faded flowers regularly to encourage continued blooming. After the main flowering period, lightly shear the foliage to maintain a neat and compact appearance. The silvery-blue evergreen foliage keeps the plant attractive even when not in bloom.
