    Plant Care Tips

    🌱 Planting

Plant your Dolgo Crabapple tree in a sunny location with rich, well-drained soil. Dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball, place the tree upright, and backfill gently. Water the Malus dolgo crabapple well after planting so it can settle in and begindeveloping strong roots.

    💧 Watering

Young trees need steady moisture to establish themselves. Keep the soil slightly moist—but not soggy—during the first growing season. Once established, the crabapple dolgo handles dry spells better but still benefits from deep watering during the hot months. Proper watering supports the Dolgo crabapple's growth rate and improves fruit quality.

    🌸 Fertilizing

Feed your tree once in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to support healthy leaves, blossoms, and fruit. The Malus dolgo crabapple tree responds best to light feeding and
should not be over-fertilized. Proper nutrition promotes long-term vitality and consistent performance.

    🍂 Mulching

Apply a 2–3 inch layer of mulch around the base to maintain soil moisture, regulate temperature, and reduce weeds. Keep mulch slightly away from the trunk to prevent rot. Mulching helps both young and mature Dolgo crabapple trees stay healthy throughout the seasons.

    ✂️ Pruning

Prune in late winter to remove weak, crossing, or damaged branches. Shaping the canopy improves airflow and encourages better flowering and fruiting. Regular pruning helps keep the
Dolgo crabapple height manageable and maintains an attractive, balanced structure. This simple routine enhances long-term productivity and tree health.
