Plant Care Tips

🌿 Ellen Huff Oakleaf Hydrangea Care Guide

🌱 Planting

Select a spot with full sun to partial shade and well-drained, fertile soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball, gently place the Ellen Huff Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia 'Ellen Huff'), and backfill with soil. Water deeply and apply mulch to maintain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

💧 Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Check moisture 2 inches below the surface—if dry, water deeply. Water 1–2 times a week, adjusting based on weather conditions.

🌸 Fertilizing

Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support lush growth and abundant blooms. Avoid excessive nitrogen to prevent weak stems.

✂️ Pruning

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Since Ellen Huff Oakleaf Hydrangea blooms on old wood, avoid heavy pruning. Remove dead or weak branches to enhance airflow.

🌷 Additional Care Tips

Ensure good airflow around the plant to prevent fungal diseases. Apply mulch in winter to insulate roots from extreme cold. Deadhead spent blooms to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage healthy growth.

Follow these care guidelines, and the Ellen Huff Oakleaf Hydrangea will thrive, offering stunning seasonal color and vibrant blooms with minimal maintenance!
