    Plant Care Tips

    🌸 Planting

Choose a partly shaded spot where your Hino-Crimson Azalea can enjoy morning sun and afternoon protection. Create a wide planting hole, settle the root ball slightly above ground level, and fill it back with loose soil. Finish with gentle watering to help the plant adjust.

    💧 Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist during the early weeks while the azalea gets established. Once it settles in, water when the top layer of soil begins to dry. Slow, deep watering is ideal to support healthy root growth.

    🌼 Fertilizing

Apply a slow-release fertilizer designed for acid-loving plants in early spring. A light mid-season feed helps maintain vibrant foliage and strong blooms without overwhelming the plant.

    🍂 Mulching

Spread a 2-inch layer of pine bark, pine needles, or shredded leaves around the base to maintain soil moisture and keep the roots cool. This also helps encourage healthy soil and limits weed competition.

    ✂️ Pruning

Refresh the plant right after its spring bloom cycle. Snip away weak or crowded stems and maintain their natural shape. Avoid heavy pruning later in the season to protect the next year’s flower buds.

    🌱 Soil preferences

The Hino-Crimson Azalea thrives in acidic, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Incorporating compost or peat moss improves aeration and supports steady, healthy growth throughout the year.
