Plant Care Tips

Bobo Hydrangea Planting & Care Guide (Hydrangea paniculata 'Bobo')

Planting:

Choose a location with full sun to partial shade and well-drained, fertile soil. If planting in a container, ensure proper drainage. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball, place the Bobo Hydrangea carefully, and backfill with soil. Water deeply and add mulch around the base to retain moisture and regulate temperature.

Watering:

Check soil moisture 2 inches below the surface. If it feels dry, water deeply. Water 1-2 times weekly during the establishment phase and adjust based on weather to maintain consistent moisture.

Fertilizing:

Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring and midsummer to support healthy growth and abundant blooms.

Pruning:

Prune your Bobo Hydrangea in late winter or early spring before new growth starts. Since it blooms on new wood, proper pruning encourages more flowers and maintains its compact shape.

Additional Care Tips:

Ensure proper air circulation to prevent fungal diseases. Protect young plants from harsh winter conditions with mulch or a garden blanket. Remove spent blooms regularly to extend the flowering season and keep the plants looking fresh.

By following these care steps, your Bobo Hydrangea will flourish, providing stunning, long-lasting blooms and adding charm to your garden year after year.
