    Plant Care Tips

    🌱 Planting

Choose a location with full sun to partial shade, as the Mock Orange Shrub blooms best with 4–6 hours of sunlight.
Plant in well-drained soil—whether sandy, loamy, or slightly clay-based. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and place the shrub at the same depth it was growing in its container.
Backfill gently and water thoroughly to help the roots settle in.

    💧 Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist during the first growing season to help establish strong roots. Once mature, the Mock Orange becomes moderately drought-tolerant and only needs watering when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Avoid waterlogged soil, as this shrub performs best with light, even moisture.

    🌸 Fertilizing

Feed lightly in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to support foliage health and abundant blooms.
Mock Orange shrubs do not require heavy feeding—excess fertilizer can actually reduce flower production.

    🍂 Mulching

Apply a 2–3 inch layer of mulch around the base of the shrub to conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature.Keep the mulch slightly away from the stems to prevent rot and maintain healthy airflow.

    ✂️ Pruning

Prune immediately after flowering, since Mock Orange blooms on old wood. Remove spent blooms, dead branches, or crossing stems to maintain shape and encourage next season’s flowering.
Light annual thinning keeps the shrub full, healthy, and blooming beautifully.
