    Plant Care Tips

    🌱 Planting

Choose a location with full sun to partial shade, as the Mock Orange Shrub blooms best with at least 4–6 hours of sunlight. Plant in well-drained soil, whether sandy, loamy, or slightly clay-based. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and set the plant at the same depth it was growing in its pot. Backfill gently and water thoroughly to help the roots settle.

    💧 Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist during the first growing season to help the shrub establish strong roots. Once mature, Mock Orange becomes moderately drought-tolerant, needing water only when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Avoid soggy soil, as this plant prefers light, even moisture.

    🌸 Fertilizing

Feed lightly in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to support healthy growth and abundant blooms. Mock Orange does not need heavy feeding; overfertilizing may reduce flower production.

    🍂 Mulching

Apply a 2–3 inch layer of mulch around the base to conserve moisture, reduce weeds, and regulate soil temperature. Keep mulch slightly away from the stems to prevent rot and allow airflow.

    ✂️ Pruning

Prune right after flowering, as this shrub blooms on old wood. Remove spent blooms, dead branches, or crossing stems to maintain shape and encourage next season’s growth. Light thinning every year keeps the shrub full and blooming beautifully.
