Plant Care Tips

🌱 Planting Instructions

Rose of Sharon flowers best in full sun and well-drained soil. Choose a location with ample sunlight and good air circulation. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and place the plant at the same depth as it was growing in the container.

💧 Watering Tips

Purple Pillar Rose of Sharon requires regular watering during the first growing season to establish strong roots. Water when the top layer of soil feels dry, especially during early establishment. Avoid overwatering, as soggy soil can damage the roots.

☀️ Sunlight Needs

Provide 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily for best performance. Full sun encourages abundant flowering and strong, upright growth.

🌸 Fertilizing Tips

Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote vigorous growth and abundant blooms throughout the season.

✂️ Pruning Guide

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove damaged, dead, or weak branches to maintain a healthy and attractive shape.

❄️ Winter Care

Purple Pillar Rose of Sharon thrives in suitable USDA zones and tolerates winter conditions well. Apply mulch around the base to protect roots during cold weather. In colder regions, protect container-grown plants from extreme freezing temperatures.
