Plant Care Tips

🌿 Planting

Choose a partially shaded to lightly sunny spot with moist, acidic, well-drained soil.
Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and place your Solar Flare Sunbow Native Azalea at the same depth as it was in the pot.
Backfill gently, water deeply, and apply mulch around (but not touching) the base to help retain moisture and improve soil structure 🌼🌿.

💧 Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist during the first growing season to help the roots establish.
Once mature, water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Native azaleas prefer even moisture, but avoid waterlogged soil.
Regular watering encourages fuller blooms and stronger seasonal growth 💧🍃.

🌸 Fertilizing

Feed in early spring with an acid-loving, slow-release fertilizer to support healthy foliage and vibrant flower clusters.
Avoid heavy feeding, as too much nitrogen can reduce blooming. Organic compost or pine bark soil amendments work beautifully
for native azaleas 🌱✨.

🍂 Mulching

Spread a 2–3 inch layer of mulch — pine needles, shredded bark, or leaf mulch — around the plant to keep the soil cool, retain moisture,
and reduce weed competition. Keep mulch a few inches away from the stem to prevent rot and improve airflow 🍁🌿.

✂️ Pruning

Prune immediately after flowering to maintain shape and encourage next year’s bloom buds.
Remove spent flowers, dead wood, or crossing branches. Avoid late-season pruning, as it can remove the buds that form for the following spring 🌼✂️.

☀️ Sunlight Needs

The Solar Flare Sunbow Native Azalea thrives in partial shade, especially dappled woodland light.
Morning sun with afternoon shade works best for stronger blooms and healthier foliage.
Too much intense sun may scorch leaves, while too much shade can reduce flowering ☀️🌿🔥.
