Don't delay getting into ground

"soil" wasn't good enough to support the vine while it acclimated. Instead of perking up after arrival, it started browning and dropping leaves. I decided to skip the acclimating after a few days, and just got it in the ground. We'll see how it responds. So far, so good.

Plants were puny

Will reserve judgment until we see how they grow!

Grape plant purchase

Very carefully packed, but not a great specimen - upper leaves of plant were spotted and so had to be removed ... Only time will tell!

Alive?

We are in zone 9 a and had two hard freezes last month. My grapes lost what few leaves they had and it is hard to find any green under the bark on either of them. These grapes are supposed to take a lot colder weather than that.
