    Plant Care Tips

A.C. Sweet Pomegranate Tree Care Guide

    Planting

Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil to promote strong growth and
high-quality fruit. If planting in a container, select a large pot with
drainage holes and fill it with a high-quality potting mix.

Dig a planting hole twice the width and depth of the root ball.
Place the A.C. Sweet Pomegranate Tree in the hole at its original soil level.
Water thoroughly after planting and apply a 2–3 inch layer of mulch
to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

    Watering

Water deeply once or twice per week during the first growing season to help
establish a strong root system. After establishment, the A.C. Sweet
Pomegranate Tree becomes drought-tolerant and only needs watering during
    extended dry periods.

Avoid overwatering, particularly in cool or humid climates, as excessive
moisture can lead to root rot or fungal problems.

    Fertilizing

Feed the tree in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer
such as 10-10-10 to support healthy growth and fruit development.
Do not fertilize after mid to late summer, as late feeding may produce
soft growth that can be damaged by fall frost.

    Pruning

Prune the A.C. Sweet Pomegranate Tree in late winter or early spring before
new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches to
improve air circulation and sunlight penetration.

Annual pruning helps maintain the tree’s shape and size while encouraging
better fruit quality—especially important for container-grown plants.

    Cold Protection

The A.C. Sweet Pomegranate Tree thrives in USDA Zones 7–10 and tolerates
light frost. Young trees or container-grown plants should be protected
    during unexpected cold snaps.

Apply mulch around the root zone in late fall and cover the tree with
frost cloth during extreme cold. Container plants can be moved to a
sheltered location such as a garage or covered patio for added protection.

How long until fruit appears after planting?
You can expect fruiting within 2–3 years, with heavier yields as the tree matures—especially with proper sun exposure and seasonal care.
Can fruit be stored or preserved?
