Plant Care Tips

🌺 Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea Care Guide 🌿

Planting 🌱

Choose a location with full sun to partial shade and well-drained, fertile soil.
Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball, gently place the Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea
(Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Alice’), and backfill with soil. Water deeply and apply
a layer of mulch to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Watering 💦

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Check moisture levels about
2 inches below the surface—if dry, water deeply. Water 1–2 times per week, adjusting
based on weather conditions.

Fertilizing 🌼

Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to promote lush foliage
and abundant blooms. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can lead to weak growth and
reduced flowering.

Pruning ✂️

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Since Alice Oakleaf
Hydrangea blooms on old wood, avoid heavy pruning. Remove dead or weak branches to
improve air circulation and maintain a natural shape.

Additional Care Tips 🌸

  • Ensure good airflow around the plant to prevent fungal diseases.
  • Apply mulch in winter to insulate roots from extreme cold.
  • Deadhead spent blooms to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage healthy growth.

Follow these simple steps, and your Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea will flourish—providing
spectacular seasonal blooms and stunning fall foliage with minimal maintenance.
