    Plant Care Tips

    🌱 Planting

Choose a sunny to partially shaded location with rich, well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as
the root ball, set the Pee Gee Hydrangea at the same depth as its nursery pot, and gently backfill with
soil. Water thoroughly to settle the roots. Add mulch around the base to conserve moisture, but keep it
    away from the stem.

    💧 Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist during the first season to help the hydrangea establish a strong root
system. Once mature, water deeply whenever the top layer of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging, as
hydrangeas prefer moisture but not soggy conditions.

    🌸 Fertilizing

Apply a light dose of a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support vigorous growth
and large cone-shaped blooms. Avoid over-fertilizing, as too much nitrogen can reduce flower production
    and encourage leafy growth.

    🍂 Mulching

Spread a 2–3 inch mulch layer around the plant to retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and
prevent weeds. Leave a small gap around the stem base to promote airflow and prevent rot.

    ✂️ Pruning

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins, as Pee Gee Hydrangeas bloom on new wood.
Remove dead or weak branches, shape the shrub, and thin crowded stems to improve airflow and boost bloom
quality. This enhances those iconic white-to-pink flower clusters.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much sunlight do most garden plants need?
Most outdoor plants thrive in full sun (6–8 hours daily), while others prefer partial shade. Always check the specific light requirement of your plant for best growth.
How often should I water my plants?
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Overwatering can cause root rot, while underwatering leads to stress. Deep, infrequent watering is usually ideal.
What type of soil is best for healthy plant growth?
Most plants prefer well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Adding compost or organic matter improves soil structure and promotes strong root development.
When is the best time to fertilize plants?
Fertilize in early spring and again during the active growing season, using a balanced, slow-release fertilizer unless the plant has special needs.
How do I know when to prune my plant?
Prune to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Flowering shrubs are usually pruned after blooming, while most other plants are pruned in late winter or early spring.
