Royal Velvet Camellia

Spectacular black red, velvet textured flowers, Royal Velvet is a terrific camellia cultivar that displays a strong, bushy, neat, upright habit. Nothing more to say, if you have space for a large bushy shrub in a semi shaded position just buy one! It’s really good and well worth considering if red fits your gardens colour palette.

• Specialty - Produces large dark red flowers with a velvet-like texture that bloom in winter and spring. Dark green foliage on a nicely shaped evergreen bush. Grows 6 to 10 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide. Excellent as a hedge or specimen.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.
